Job Description

Lead the supervision of the Kampala Urban protection team.

Ensure the implementation of Kampala Urban protection activities.

Promote integration of protection in NRC area program, in collaboration with the Multi Core Competency Project Manager, Protection Specialist and Area Manager.

Support overall budget and procurement oversight, in collaboration with the Multi Core Competency Project Manager Liaise with M&E and t he Community Consultation and Ref err al Tea ms (Complaints and Feedback Mechanism) to ensure a quality and context appropriate response.

Contribute to donor reports on project outputs and activities, according to specified internal timelines.

Provide leadership on capacity building for urban protection programming.

Implement protection information management systems, in cooperation with the Community Consultation and Referral Teams.

Ensure that all protection risk identified cases are responded to in a reasonable time frame and where necessary referred to the concerned focal point and / or to the Area Manager.

Contribute to context analysis, protection needs assessments and trends identification.

Qualification

University Degree in Law, Social Science, Administration and Management or a related field is required.

At least 3 years of professional experience working with humanitarian organizations (international and national), while experience working in an emergency setting and filed location is an asset.

Strong knowledge of both National and International Protection Principles and policy frame works in relation with refugee management systems in Uganda is required.

Strong understanding of Protection risks identification and response in Uganda is desirable.

Collaboration with stakeholder dynamics relevant protection of displaced persons in Uganda is key.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with ease in a multi-cultural setting is strongly required.

Fluency in English both, written and spoken.

Knowledge of local languages is added advantage.
