Cameroon: Samuel Eto’o to lodge a complaint against CAF

A complaint has been announced against the Confederation of African Football (CAF). And the perpetrator is none other than the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, who wants to make amends for his affront.

Will the President of the Cameroon Football Federation follow through on his logic? We’re waiting to see. But Samuel Eto’o is going to lodge a complaint against the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The head of Cameroonian soccer announced his intention on the set of France 24: “I was never questioned about what I was accused of.I have therefore instructed my lawyers to lodge a complaint against CAF so that responsibilities can be established,” insisted the former Barcelona star.“It was too easy to sully everything I’ve built up over the years in the world of soccer. CAF jumped in far too early with a press release. This is unacceptable behavior,” he added.

Samuel Eto’o has in fact been accused by certain players in Cameroonian soccer of match-fixing and other offences such as corruption and influence peddling. Following these accusations, CAF announced the opening of an investigation against the FECAFOOT president.

Although the continental body subsequently stressed that “although the allegations are prima facie serious, Mr. Samuel Eto’o is presumed innocent until an appropriate judicial body concludes otherwise”, CAF wrote in a press release.
