    Description

    Are you a recent Ph.D. graduate in natural sciences or engineering, or do you hold a Master’s degree
    in an engineering field earned within the last five years? The National Research Council Canada (NRC)
    is offering a unique opportunity through its Research Associate Program, designed to provide promising scientists and engineers with hands-on research experience. With a competitive annual salary ranging from $63,312 to $179,422, this program not only offers financial stability but also a platform to advance your career in a challenging and innovative research environment.

     

    Degree Level

    Government of Canada NRC Research Associate Program 2025 is available to undertake Masters level programs at Canada Universities.

     

    Program Overview and Work Arrangements

    The Research Associate Program offers term-based appointments with an initial two-year duration, which may be extended up to a maximum of five years based on performance and organizational requirements. Work arrangements are flexible, with a hybrid model that includes both onsite and telework options. However, associates who telework are expected to visit the office at least three times a week or spend a minimum of 60% of their work schedule onsite at their own expense.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Eligibility Criteria and Who Can Apply?

    You are eligible for the Research Associate Program if you meet the following requirements:

    • Possess a Ph.D. in natural sciences or engineering or a Master’s degree in an engineering field earned within the last five years.
    • Have demonstrated ability to perform high-quality, original research in your field.
    • Meet the Reliability Status condition of employment.
    • Priority may be given to candidates from the following employment equity groups:
    • Women
    • Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis)
    • Persons with Disabilities
    • Racialized Persons
    • Candidates are encouraged to self-declare during the application process.

    • Two Letters of Recommendation: Attach these letters to your application profile.
    • Preferred Location(s): Indicate your desired NRC office location in the application.
