The integration of AI in international education acts as a catalyst for delivering personalised learning paths globally. In addition, by enhancing administrative efficiencies for education consultants and providers, it is poised to redefine the sector for years to come.

Technology has advanced at an unprecedented pace. It is continuing to revolutionise several industries and education is no longer an exception. With augmented learning methods and streamlined administrative processes, AI has transformed the education sector to become more adaptive to students’ needs. Similarly, it has a significant impact on the international and higher education systems, changing the complete narrative for students to study abroad.

The technology revolution led by AI is fundamentally reshaping the international education landscape. With more advancements happening across the technology sector, AI in the global education market is estimated to cross USD 5440 million in 2024 at a CAGR of 47.2 percent to reach 55,444 million by 2030. Higher education institutions across the world are preparing their students for a technologically changing world while also embedding next-gen technologies in the curriculum in learning experiences.

The integration of AI in international education acts as a catalyst for delivering personalised learning paths globally. In addition, by enhancing administrative efficiencies for education consultants and providers, it is poised to redefine the sector for years to come. As a result, students who embrace these advancements and stay abreast with related trends are able to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.

Karan Sharma, Head-Marketing, AECC, will share more insights on how AI is shaping the future of international education for study abroad students.

Interest in AI and ML courses

AI and ML technologies have dominated the workflows of almost every industry. This has added new job roles in the industry that require specific skills to match the requirements in the domain. As per the recent stats, a 4x jump was recorded on a year-on-year basis in the Indian students applying to study AI and machine learning at US schools. Since India has an expansive pool of talented minds, the US-based institutions offering AI and ML course are witnessing a significant increase.

    Student support and engagement

International universities are exploring possibilities of Gen AI and implementing AI chatbots for enhanced and faster communication with students. These technologies have created significant strides in the market by offering personalised assistance, addressing their concerns round the clock. It has become easier for students to get information about admissions, courses details, fee structure, facilities in campus, etc. This bridges the gap between the university and students, creating tailored learning experiences.

    Breaking language barriers

The international education landscape has turned more inclusive with the use of AI. The technology has been showcasing tremendous response in language learning and translation. It is actively enabling students from diverse backgrounds to engage with course content and faculty with fast multilinguistic AI language tools, fostering an inclusive environment. Similarly, AI also equips universities with language tools to streamline administrative processes. By integrating AI into such systems, traditional universities can make their education models accessible for a larger and more diverse pool of talented students.

    Predictive analytics for assessment

Since AI has the capability to analyse vast amounts of data, progressive study abroad consultants have started capitalising on its potential to identify patterns in students’ learning and development. They now focus more on valuable insights to analyse student’s performance and learning outcomes. Gone are the days when students had to struggle to understand their interests and shortlist courses. They have implemented AI tools for predictive analytics to understand students’ interests and suggest the right university with similar course offerings.”

    Bottomline

There is no denying the fact that AI has transformed the global education landscape. Its variety of approaches has contributed to a more competitive yet inclusive learning environment. From analysing trends to tailoring the education resources as per market needs, help universities in aligning their offerings according to students’ preferences and needs that stay relevant to current and future demands of industries.
