This information is for UK/Home students applying to study at Northumbria University on a Full-Time Undergraduate course in the academic year 2024/25.

Northumbria University, officially the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, is a university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. A former polytechnic, it was established as one of the new universities in 1992. It is a member of the University Alliance and the second university of Newcastle.

Aim and Benefits of Northumbria University Undergraduate Scholarship

Successful applicants will receive a total of GBP 4,000, paid in installments over three years of undergraduate study. Payments will be made as follows: GBP 335 (25%) by the end of November 2024, GBP 335 (25%) by the end of February 2025, and GBP 665 (50%) by the end of May 2025. The award is provided on an annual basis, subject to the condition that the student progresses to the next year of study.

Requirements for Northumbria University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must be UK/Home applicants, including those domiciled in Jersey, Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Ireland, and the Isle of Man.

Applicants must apply and enroll on a Full-Time undergraduate course starting at Level 4 at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus in September 2024.

Applicants should choose Northumbria as their firm choice by 6 June 2024.

Applicants must meet the conditions of their offer and individual entry requirements.

Applicants should be self-funded students (i.e., not sponsored by an employer).

Applicants should apply for one or more elements of the Government Student Finance package to have their application means-tested.

Applicants need to register with the respective Student Finance authority based on their location.

Successful students will receive a total of £4,000, paid in instalments throughout years one, two and three.  This additional support will help students focus on their studies and assist with budgeting.  All eligible self-funded students will be short-listed and considered. You will be notified of this after 6 June 2024.
