1.Background

Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the largest humanitarian organizations in the world. The IRC assists, provides rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of oppression and violent conflict. Present in more than 40 countries, IRC’s mission is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shaken by conflict and disasters survive, recover and take control of their future.

IRC began operations in Cameroon in 2016 to address the growing concerns of people affected by Boko Haram-related violence in the far north of the country The national coordination office is located in Yaoundé, with field bases in Kousseri, Maroua in the Far EastandBuea and Bamenda in the South-West and North-West. IRC Cameroon currently runs programs in the areas of “Women’s Protection and Empowerment,” “Protection and Rule of Law,” “Economic Recovery and Development,”” environmental health, and education and child protection.

1-Area of intervention

The position is based in Maroua with frequent travel throughout the program’s area of intervention

2-Objectives of the position

The Supply Chain Manager will work under the hierarchical supervision of the Field and Technical Coordinator of the Supply Chain Coordinator. He/She should be a key member of the supply chain team who can assist in the ongoing development of the team. He/she will be the guarantor of the integrity of the supply chain system. The supply chain must be able to respond quickly to programs and operational needs, while ensuring best practices for compliance with standards and procedures while producing quality documentation. Specific responsibilities include overseeing the procurement process, warehousing, asset management, wealth management, as well as transportation.

1-Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator, the Supply Chain Manager will have the following tasks:

• Undertakes to respect the IRC Way (IRC Deontology).
• Undertakes to ensure the optimal implementation of these Policies in its framework.
• Is available to perform any other one-time tasks deemed useful by their direct supervisor or by the IRC.
• Produce reports on supply chain activities at the end of the month.

4-Other functions

• Ensure that all activities will be implemented in accordance with IRC’s operational policies.
• Other additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
