Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), the premier university of Brunei Darussalam, is pleased to announce the launch of the UBD Graduate Research Scholarship (UGRS). This prestigious and highly competitive scholarship is designed to attract and support outstanding PhD students from around the globe who are committed to pursuing research in an international, research-intensive environment.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam Graduate Research Scholarship Spring 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Graduate, Research level programs at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Benefits
- Tuition, registration, and acceptance fees at Universiti Brunei Darussalam will be waived.
- A monthly subsistence allowance of BND 2,200.00 will be provided for 36 months.
- Free on-campus accommodation will be offered (excluding administrative fees).
- Successful candidates residing outside Brunei Darussalam will receive one round-trip economy class air ticket between their home country and Brunei Darussalam.
- Funding of up to BND 3,000.00 is available for overseas research or conference presentations.
- Visa fees will be covered by the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidate should:
- not be older than 30 years of age at the time of the application (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis)
- hold a Masters Degree* and at least Upper Second Degree in a relevant field from an internationally recognised top university, or
- hold a First Class Degree* in a relevant field from an internationally recognised top university
- be able to fulfill UBD’s admission requirement (including English proficiency)
- Submit a high quality and impactful research proposal
*Degree should be awarded within 5 years of the starting date of the relevant Academic semester of the enrolment (i.e. 1 August or 1 January)
