About the Role

We are currently seeking a professional to join our team as an Agroforestry Impact Specialist to be based in Kabwe. You will manage high-priority impact assessments in the field of agroforestry, and overseeing the program’s agronomy and tree survival initiatives. You will report to the Field /Impact Lead, and you will play a key role in contributing to our mission of driving positive change in agroforestry practices and making a meaningful difference in the lives of farmers.

Responsibilities

Agroforestry Impact Assessment: In collaboration with monitoring and evaluation leads, plan and implement annual crop yield and soil organic content surveys within agroforestry plots.

Seedling Survival & Growth: Understand barriers to higher seedling survival and tree growth and implement practical and scalable methods to improve seedling survival and tree growth among farmers.

Agriculture training and monitoring: Adapt, implement and monitor farmer facing agriculture training for annual crops and create interventions to increase compliance.

Strategic Prioritization: Work closely with both the department lead and One Acre Fund leadership to prioritize resources and make financially sound project recommendations.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline

4+ years of experience in agriculture or forestry extension

Experience implementing both quantitative and qualitative surveys at scale.

Technical knowledge and experience in agriculture training and / or soil work.

You have a track record managing people and helping staff grow

Passionate about field work with split time in the office

Willingness to live in Kabwe.

Preferred Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Location: Kabwe, Zambia
