Job Description

Position Summary Alliance is seeking to recruit a project Intern. The intern will work with the team in the UNOPS project that is supporting the development of a greenhouse gases inventory for the crop subsector in Kenya. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya office.
Assist in extracting the current reported greenhouse gases emissions from different agricultural activities in global data bases for Kenya.
Review the existing climate change and agricultural policies and document the proposed mitigation actions for the crop sector in Kenya.
Review the Initiative for Climate Action (ICAT) transparency methodology and document the key data and indicators needed for a proper tracking of crop mitigation actions.
Support:
- Preparation of stakeholder workshops and their report generation.
- Develop project reports.
III. Any activity related to the project as required.
Requirements
MSc degree in Agricultural Sciences, Climate Change, Environmental Science, or related fields. Ongoing masters preferable.
Knowledge of agriculture, climate change, and related environmental issues
Experience in conducting literature reviews
Ability to independently and within a team setting
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with basic data analysis (e.g., with R) will be an added advantage.
Terms of employment:
This is an internship position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The contract will be for period of six (6) months.
