Job description

GIZ International Services is an integrated department of the entire GIZ. International Services offers its know-how and services on a commercial basis. We mainly act on behalf of and on behalf of international clients, i.e. governments of partner countries and international institutions or private companies.
GIZ International Services is participating in the project to support the Economic Development Support Program through the Promotion of Value Chains and Private Initiative.
The general objective of this action is to contribute to sustainable and inclusive local economic development and the creation of decent jobs through the development of the private sector.
The specific objectives (achievements) of this contract are as follows:
- Specific objective (achievement) 1: promote and sustainably develop, taking into account environmental and climate issues, the economic potential around priority value chains with an emphasis on the economic empowerment of women and young people;
- Specific objective (achievement) 2: improve the investment climate and the business environment by taking into account the realities of the territories and women’s entrepreneurship.
Your tasks
- Contribute through personal expertise to the implementation of activities supporting the development of value chains.
- Draft or contribute to drafting the terms of reference for any activity in component 1 falling within its remit and which requires short-term expertise, then support the implementation of the activity.
- Ensure the validation process of short-term mission reports.
- Possibly provide training in his/her field of expertise.
- Contribute to the drafting of activity reports and support the implementation of the other component of the project as needed.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum requirement: (1) University education of at least Bac+4 level, certified by a diploma in finance, economics, economics and management sciences or other equivalent field; (2) perfect command, oral and written, of the French and English languages.
- Advantages: a certification in project management
General professional experience
- Minimum requirement: a cumulative professional experience of at least 10 years is required in one or more of the following 3 areas: corporate finance, investment, financial analysis or portfolio management.
- Assets: (1) In-depth knowledge of financial instruments and project financing mechanisms in Cameroon or in a country with an economic context similar to that of Cameroon, including those promoted by donors is an asset. (2) Professional experience in gender equality or the economic empowerment of women.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum requirement: a cumulative professional experience of at least 04 years is required in the assembly of investment projects and/or the evaluation of investment opportunities.
- Assets: Previous experience in the maturation of investment projects (initial assessment, market study, development of the business plan, financial structuring, due diligence, negotiation of agreements and contracts, finalization and approval) in the field of agriculture or agri-food processing or any other project relating to an agricultural value chain would be an asset.

Project location
The operational base of the program is established in Yaoundé with field trips across the country depending on the needs related to the program activities.
Implementation period
The expected start date is set for June 23, 2025, and the contract execution period will be 48 months from that date. The estimated number of working days is 450 over the duration of the project. The expert must spend at least 75% of the days worked in Cameroon.
