An excellent opportunity to attend the “Youth4Regions” Programme for aspiring journalists to help them discover what the European Union is doing in their region. It will be for a week in Brussels, Belgium and fully funded by the European Commission. this programme available for 33 participants from EU and EU neighbouring countries.

About Youth4Regions

Youth4Regions is the European Commission programme helping journalism students and young journalists to discover what the EU is doing in their region. More than 130 people from all over Europe have participated in the program since the beginning of the program in 2017. According to some surveys, it was found that 93% of the participants considered the program to have helped them improve their understanding of EU policy and cohesion.

Eligibility

– Aged between 18-30 years old

– Be a citizen of a EU Member State or an EU neighbouring country as the following list:

Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Palestinian Territory, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom

– Interest in what EU regional policy is doing in your region

– Background in journalism (studies or up to 2 years of experience)

– Have not participated in previous editions of the “Youth4Regions” Programme

– Availability during 8 – 14 October 2022.

– Opportunity to take part as a journalist in European Commission press trips to Member States

Timeline

Deadline: Application opens from 11th of April 2022 to 11th of July 2022

Interview: meeting for pre-selected participants will be on 29th of July 2022

Selection: Selection results will be 15th of August 2022

Programme: Youth4Regions Media programme in Brussels from 8 -14 October 2022

How to Apply?

First: You should Prepare a short article (2500 to 6250 characters), a photo or a short video reportage (2 – 3 minutes) depicting a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund or Cohesion Fund. Your work should cover the theme of the current edition of the programme – youth empowerment.

Secondly: Fill in the online application form

– Contributions are accepted in all of the 24 EU official languages. However, in case of video submissions a short written summary in English is required.
