Purpose of the position:
As part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Cameroon has joined the COVAX facility launched in April 2020 by the International Community. This commitment makes it possible to mobilize stakeholders to take all the necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus and reduce the mortality rate induced by this virus. It provides for the recruitment of an accounting/financial staff. The latter will intervene in support of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) to provide technical support for the costing and fiduciary management of Covid-19 vaccination activities including monitoring the availability of funds at WHO level.
Summary of assigned tasks
It ensures the administrative and financial implementation of all costing, control and support measures in the management of subsidies for Covid-19 vaccination activities. Its main responsibilities are to:
Provide support to the process of implementation planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation in favor of COVID interventions;
Organize and monitor the capacity building of beneficiaries on the administrative, accounting and financial procedures in force;
Support the preparation of budgets;
Please respect WHO rules and procedures regarding the allocation and provision of funds and their justification;
Organizational context
In accordance with established procedures and practices, the incumbent performs his/her duties under minimal supervision, manages his/her day-to-day work independently and informs his/her supervisor of unusual problems or situations. General guidance is given by the supervisor, in view of the general objectives and instructions relating to the allocation of resources and/or the needs and priorities of the units/programmes in the country.
The incumbent is part of a team and will be involved in the activities of other team members as well as other programs in the office, the activities of the regional office and, possibly, HQ.

Education / Qualifications requises
Essentielle:
– Un diplome de fin d’études secondaires et une formation en gestion financière.
Souhaitable :
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management or finance (BAC+3)
Qualification or professional certification in project management, monitoring and evaluation or a similar field.
Experiment
Essential:
At least 10 years’ experience in an accounting or financial management position
Tongue:
Excellent knowledge of French or English, with a good working knowledge of the other language
Other qualifications
Skills in teamwork and in the use of data management software, Word, Excel, Power Point, Epi Info, etc.
