KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Technical, Leadership, People and Resource management)
- Maintain and develop OIS owned platforms, in particular Oxfam.org, Click&Go Country Websites and the act platform, in line with the organizational and technical requirements to meet end-user needs and to create and maintain a technical road map for this.
- Provide technical support and advice to OIS, affiliate, country and regional teams on best practice in web design and development and work closely with other developers across Oxfam to exchange ideas and share resource where appropriate
- Act as the technical authority and main developer of Oxfam International’s platforms. Oxfam.org, country websites and future micro-sites are built in Drupal. Act.oxfam.org is hosted by an external supplier.
- Maintain https://www.oxfam.org, https://act.oxfam.org, micro-sites and related sites to meet technical/security requirements, business requirements and end-user needs.
- Manage the relationship with the supplier for act.oxfam.org to ensure that the organization is realizing the benefits of previous investments and actively lead on any future strategy and investments in platform functionality and development
- Work closely with external agencies, internal stakeholders and the Digital Product Manager in planning and developing current and future digital platforms, including specific microsites
- Work with external agencies to ensure that all digital platforms are provided in a high security, high performance environment
- Lead and implement UI and UX, ensuring cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards, including by working with external digital agencies.
- Produce, where required with external agencies, beautiful, eye-catching designs for web and mobile platforms, as well as interactive web applications
- Work with the OIS IT team and external developers to create integrated technical solutions to meet global digital requirements as required
- This role will need to work occasional evenings and weekends as well as travel

- PHP developer with knowledge of the Drupal API
- A solid and evidenced understanding of front-end development: HTML, CSS, SASS and Compass, JavaScript/JQuery
- Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards
- Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and
organizational units
- Best-practice development processes: Git, Agile, test driven development processes, continuous integration
- Experience in running large, high performance Drupal sites: Nginx, MySQL optimization, me cached, Varnish, APC, etc.
- Ability to set up and maintain technical workflow without support
- Ability to take a rigorous approach to technical problem solving and documentation
- Understanding of user driven development
- Experience working within a non-technical team and ability to explain to help them problem solve and understand concepts
- Showcase experience managing projects, with external and internal stakeholders, within strict
timelines and with clarity on expectations
- Fluency in written and spoken English
