Zambia LOCAL, an IntraHealth International-led program, is hiring one (1) Driver to be based in Lusaka, Zambia. The driver will provide reliable and safe driving services ensuring high quality of work, demonstrating a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, and ability to work with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. The driver will comply with program vehicle management policies and standards, driving safety and IntraHealth’ s travel and safety policies.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Drives for IntraHealth officials and staff.
Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services.
Driving office vehicles for the transport of IntraHealth staff, officials and visitors and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, and meeting official personnel and visitors.
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance.
Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water level.
Qualifications:
Grade Twelve/Secondary School certification.
Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or USAID system with a safe driving record.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions.
Fluent in spoken English; working knowledge of a second language desired.
Ability to drive for extended periods of time.
