Join WaterAid as the End Water Poverty Global Coordinator to change normal for millions of people so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.

About the Team: End Water Poverty (EWP) is a global civil society coalition holding duty-bearers to account to realise the human right to water and sanitation. We have 150 members in more than 80 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America all working to ensure there is accessible, affordable and good quality water and sanitation for everyone. We run a “Claim your water rights” campaign that creates tangible change for communities, holds duty-bearers to account and raises up issues to regional and global decision-making spaces. About the Role: This is an exciting role where, EWP’s Global Coordinator, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and strength of the network, as well as drive the collective campaigning effort of the network in its Claim Your Water Rights campaign at local, national, regional and global levels. This role will also lead strategic thinking and practical application of embedding a decolonisation and localisation agenda into EWP’s direction and growth.

In this role, you will:

Provide strategic leadership and vision to the coalition with a clear pathway to achieving impact for the membership

Provide strategic leadership to the network’s Claim Your Water Rights Campaign, representing the network in key regional and global spaces to elevate priority issues identified from local and national campaigning

Ensure strong governance and financial health of the network, working with the Steering Committee and members

Build strong relationships within the membership, including peer-to-peer learning, to ensure the members are learning from each others and able to strengthen their national work

Manage the secretariat team and consultants, ensuring a positive, creative, focussed working dynamic that delivers EWP’s agenda.

About You: We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, driven and able to bring their savvy campaigning and network leadership skills to ensure EWP continues to grow as a network and in its impact. They will also have practical experience of how decolonisation and localisation approaches are practiced. Grounded in practical experience of campaigning on water and sanitation in a Latin America, Africa or Asian perspective, we are looking for someone who is able to elevate key issues being faced by communities into regional and global spaces, working with others in the rights and water and sanitation spaces. Finally, we are looking for someone who can work in and lead a small secretariat as well as engage a steering committee and wider membership with positivity and energy to ensure EWP is realising its ambition.

Closing date: Applications will close at 23:59 on 17 March 2023. Availability for interviews is required for the week of 25 March and 1 April, which will be conducted online.
