The two real estate departments in which you will be trained organize the provision, management and optimization of the GIZ buildings, areas and workplaces at the German locations. Through modern facility management (FM), we make a significant contribution to the company’s success.

Your tasks

The combination of studying “Industrial Engineering – Facility Management” at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Stuttgart and in-company training at GIZ will lead you to the internationally recognized university degree “Bachelor of Engineering” (B.Eng.).

You complete the course in 6 semesters. In approximately three-month rotations, you will combine university studies and practical experience in the company. You will learn and work on topics related to construction and building technology, digitalization and FM processes, facility service management, energy and environmental management, as well as commercial basics.

During an approximately 2-month assignment in one of our construction and infrastructure projects abroad, you will get to know our project work on site. When choosing the location, we take into account the requirements of our corporate security department and our medical service.

General university entrance qualification with very good to good average or very good subject-specific university entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification with Delta examination (Please note the entry requirements of the DHBW Stuttgart.)

Interested in industrial engineering and facility management

Good performance in mathematics and physics

Fluent written and spoken German and English, basic knowledge of French desirable

Location information

At the Bonn location you will work on the GIZ Campus Bonn. Our Campus Forum building has been awarded the DGNB PLATINUM certificate for sustainability in construction. At the Eschborn location, the properties look after 7 different buildings and one new building.

Please indicate in your application whether you would like to complete 4 of 6 practical phases in Bonn or Eschborn. A practical phase at the other location and a practical phase abroad are planned.
