The Africa Human Resources team is a regional group of HR professionals who work across countries, in a coordinated effort to facilitate HR initiatives and provide high-level support to programs and operations in the region.

Internship Project Description: The Talent Coordinator position is part of the Regional HR Support Team (HRST) whose role is to provide administrative support to the pool of recruiters, Regional HR Business Partners and HR Generalists in Africa. The HRST will also ensure that our HR processes are mapped, built and aligned across the continent and will work with HRBPs, HR Generalists and Recruiters to define the specific transactional tasks and processes that require their support. As a member of the HR support team for the region, the intern will also coordinate talent programs in Africa.

Proposed activities for the course:

Assist the team with transactional and administrative tasks in functional areas including recruitment, compensation and benefits, training, HR systems, onboarding and offboarding.

Contribute to the maintenance of employee files, make filings, compile data, prepare reports, organize meetings/interviews and draft documents and correspondence, as required.

Participates in the coordination of the administration of talent programs (scholarships, internships, etc.).

Assist HRBPs and HR Generalists in responding to employee administrative requests such as bank letters, certificates and any other relevant administrative documents.

Internship goals and learning objectives:

Support the HR team in developing, maintaining and aligning HR support processes.

Learning Outcomes (how the trainee’s performance will be assessed):

Through PATH’s GPS model

The intern will be required to submit monthly reports/presentations on their learning.

Direct assessment by supervisor/observer

Face-to-face meetings with the national representative and the supervisor.

Description of skills and experience the intern should have:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resource management or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good problem solving, bridge building and diplomacy skills.

Be comfortable in a flexible and changing environment, with the ability to be ready to adjust plans and direction in response to feedback.

Fluency in English and French is essential.

Knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset.

Description of skills and experience the intern should have

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good problem solving, bridge building, and diplomacy abilities.

Comfortable managing in a flexible and changing environment, with ability to be ready to adjust plans and direction in response to feedback.

Proficiency in English and French is a must.

Knowledge of Portuguese will be a plus.
