This fully funded fellowship provides Canadian volunteers the chance to work in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda to support women’s social entrepreneurship initiatives.
What is the HerStart International Fellowship?
The HerStart Innovate the Future program, led by Youth Challenge International (YCI), empowers 10,000 women and local organizations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda by providing them with essential training and networking opportunities to start or grow their businesses. Canadian fellows play a crucial role in this mission by contributing to impactful projects and developing leadership and global skills.

Available Subjects
HerStart Fellowship Roles
Fellows can apply for one of the following positions based on their skills and interests:
- Program & Partnerships Fellow – Work with local partners to implement sustainable development programs.
- Communications & Marketing Fellow – Create content and strategies to promote the HerStart initiative.
- Research & Learning Fellow – Conduct research to enhance program effectiveness and impact.
- Social Entrepreneurship Fellow – Support women-led businesses with training and mentorship.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the HerStart International Fellowship 2025, applicants must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

- Have relevant skills or experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, research, or partnership development.
- Be available for a 3-month placement in Ghana, Tanzania, or Uganda.
